Foote family item regarding Centenary Methodist Church from the Metuchen Recorder, March 29, 1951.

New members of the Centenary Methodist Church, Metuchen, New Jersey are announced and include my grandfather (Eugene Manville Foote, 1910-1978) and grandmother (Ruth Evelyn Maitland Foote, 1910-1996), my mother (Janice Maitland Foote Bonis, 1933-2005), my Aunt Marilyn (Marilyn Helen Foote Gneiting, 1937-2014), and my Aunt Bev. (Beverly Jean Foote Hibler, 1930-2001).

Items on the Foote family from the July 12, 1951 issue of The Metuchen Recorder

My Aunt Joyce (Joyce Adele Foote Luciani) gets a week long visit her good friend and cousin Janet Lee Golomb.

Neat item where my grandmother, Ruth Evelyn Maitland Foote (1910-1996), and her daughter, Beverly Jean Foote Hibler (1930-2001), host a "plastic party." I assume this was a Tupperware party. One of the guests was my mother, Janice Maitland Foote Bonis (1933-2005). I remember my mom hosting a few Tupperware parties when we lived in Menlo Park, New Jersey in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

James H. Bonis named fire chief in Metuchen, New Jersey, 1936.

My grandfather was fire chief in 1936. Not sure how long he was chief.

Obituary of James H. Bonis, 1957.

Obituary of my grandfather, James H. Bonis, from two different newspapers. He died June 11, 1957.

Caroline Schmidt Bonis obituary, November 1989.

This obituary of my grandmother, Caroline Schmidt Bonis, appeared in The Metuchen Review on November 17, 1989. She died on November 13, 1989. My brother and sisters and my cousins called this wonderful woman Nanny. I'll write more about her in the future.

Image of Caroline Bonis and Raymond F. Bonis, Sr., January 1951.

Two images of my grandmother and father soon after he joined the Marines. The image is dated January of 1951. I wonder if that is their house in Metuchen, NJ or a neighbor's house? My dad would have been 17 years-old that month.
